Small Clutch Basics that are Better for Your Body
My go-to everyday clutch is small—really small. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy chunky bags every once in while, but after lugging my laptop bag around Monday through Friday, when the weekend comes knocking, I’m ready for something simple and small.
Here’s my two recent clutch essentials:
Burt’s Bee’s Lipstick: These might top my favorite natural/neutral loves of the year. I’ve jumped brands for a while trying to find a lip color that doesn’t wash me out and that I can comfortably wear every day. Enter Iced Iris. I’m obsessed with this color. My skin has a lot of yellow undertones and but this pigment blends in so well. When you first try Burt's Lipsticks don’t expect full coverage—it’s a bit opaque, but I think that’s one of the reasons why I adore it. I don’t feel too overdone. Best of all it lasts a lot longer than most of the 100% natural brands I’ve tried (I’d guesstimate about 3 hours...especially if I seal it with a little un-powder). Either way, I usually carry this lipstick around w/ me for backup applications (mostly because when the lipstick fades, it doesn’t fade consistently).
Burt's Bee is cruelty-free.The lipstick’s fragrance (floral-ish) is derived from essential oils. If you are vegan or have concerns about soybean/canola oil (two of the lipstick’s ingredients) check out Wellness Mama’s tinted lipgloss...it might be a better option for you.
Honest Tampons: Call me a hippie, but I like to track Aunt Flow’s arrival w/ the lunar cycle. But, alas, sometimes it comes a day or two early. Hence why I pack around these adorable, petite, polka-dot peach lifesavers. The applicator takes a little bit to get used to. Blush, I might have had to read the directions on how to extend it fully—but besides that, I would give these 4 stars for comfort. One thing I noticed, is that it’s best to order your honest tampons with a lower absorbance than typical (you’ll thank me later). I’m also hoping to try out honest’s non-applicator tampons soon…
