The Maximalist's Guide To Baby Bag Essentials

The Maximalist's Guide To Baby Bag Essentials

Everyone has baby advice—but I’m a firm believer in finding what works for you and feeling confident about that choice. Here are five products that I’ve recently really loved having and feel good about. I mostly wanted to share because with my first kiddo I felt overwhelmed by all the choices, hopefully, this helps relieve some of the “choice-fatigue” by taking some of the guesswork out of it.

Happy Baby Brand: This brand is heaven-sent for mamas on the go. When my six-month-old just started solids, the screw-top pouches were perfect for having a snack in-hand before playdates/parks. If little “S” wasn’t feeling hungry enough for an entire pack, then I could just re-screw and refrigerate the rest.  I’ve recently made the jump to their stage 2 foods with everything from chia seeds to to salmon.

Organic ingredients, Vegan options, Gluten free snacks, No GMO's & Allergy conscious (no soy, gluten, dairy, or added sugar, and processed in a nut free facility). The best part is the BPA-free packaging (Even Gerber & Earth's Best have bpa in their baby food lids.) From “Project Peanut Butter” to supporting “The Small Things” non-profit, the Happy Baby brand is making social goodness waves.

Redmond Baby Powder:  This baby powder is Mother Nature’s gift to clear rashes and redness. I use this stuff every diaper change and it’s nothing short of miraculous. The clay is gathered in the Utah and help neutralize pH levels while also absorbing moisture to help keep that baby bum dry.

Two words: Talc Free. After the recent Johnson & Johnson fiasco, talc has recently been listed on the chemical “no-no” list. This is a good thing because the powder particles have been linked ovarian cancer, particularly when used in diapers. I love that Redmond’s clay is unprocessed and organic as you can get. Plus, grab you Kharma points because by purchasing the powder you support Redmod’s SOAR Foundation, which helps its employees make meaningful social contributions both locally and globally.

Essential Oil Rollers:  I love that rollers are already diffused with a natural carrier oil and are ready-to go. When my toddler was feeling a bit sick (the constant sniffles) I’d rub a bit of the roller on the bottom of her feet.

Matimati Baby Bandana Bib:  The double snaps and the back layer of fleece. This is the crème de la crème of absorbency is the baby world. Plus the designs are oh-so-hip...because no one wants a “drool monster” decked out in last season’s looks..

100% organic cotton on the front. 100% polyester fleece on the back. Plus, these bibs support “Drooling with a Purpose”—a Matimati program to help fight human trafficking.

Vera Bradley Travel Changing Mat: I’ll admit, I made this purchase because I fell in-love with the fabric. But, there are some great  eco-friendly changing pads out there that I’d love to try (the WiggleBabyShop organic pads and Zoli’s BABY OHM pads to list a few). But for right now, I have this one.

Hopefully this helps ease your journey into mama-hood.

Cheers,

Hazel
