Counting The Steps: Testing the Shine 2 Fitness Tracker
I'm high maintenance when it comes to my wrists. I detest bulky jewelry and really only wear rose gold hues on account of my skin's yellow-undertones.
This put me in the quite the conundrum on New Year's Adam—when I was scouring over Amazon prime looking for a wearable fitness tracker. I wanted something with a thin band and something that I could class-up or wear down (aka I needed something that could accessorize an evening out or night of Netflix).
I stumbled upon the MisFit's Shine 2 on this wearables comparison website. Among other things the versatility of the thin circle sold me. You could wear it as a necklace, as a leather watch or with a sweat-proof band. Oh, and (insert spirit fingers) it actually comes in rose gold. Plus, the Misfit store is packed full of fashion-friendly Shine 2 accessories.
I'm an Amazon Prime junkie. Before I knew it, a Shine 2 was suddenly in my cart. A blink later it was coming my way.
Here's what I love about it so far:
The misfit app the Shine 2 sync's with is easy to navigate and has a clean design. I appreciate all the graphs and charts and swipe right functionality.
Shine 2 lets you choose "movement reminders" and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I set mine to buzz if I'm sedentary for any hour during my work day. At least 2-3 times I'll get the friendly red-vibrating-circle-of-inactivity warning that basically says, "Hey You! Go Move. Get out of that chair." Most of the time I comply.
The sleep tracker is also a neat component. Mostly because it's entertaining to scroll through and helped me pick an ideal wake time for my Miracle Morning 2-week Experiment.
Wearing my Shine 2 helps me feel more motivated in Zumba class to really delve into the jumps and slides...if only because I want to my wearable to light up with a rainbow circle when I accomplish that day's step goal.
A downside:
It doesn't scratch easily, but it does scratch a bit. If you tend to be OCD about that tiniest scruffles on your swag, just be aware that it's bound to happen.
Do you have a wearable that keeps you moving? If so, which one works best for you? Are there any other brands/products that I should test out too?
XOXO,
Lemon
