Lemon’s Winter Fav's: Seven Skin Savers

Lemon’s Winter Fav's: Seven Skin Savers

If you want to cleanup your skin care, you’ve come to the right place. Here are seven new products that we’ve been playing around with in prep for the best winter-ready skin ever. Go ahead and let your epidermis show & glow with these remedies:

KeriCure Natural Seal Invisible Bandage: If you ever do succumb to popping a pimple, do some recon work to salvage the damage (and temporarily hide the blemish).  Try sealing the area with KeriCure.

Created by a PhD Organic Chemist, this transparent skin sealer is made from two ingredients: water & an organic polymer.  The polymer mirrors the natural elasticity of your skin and creates the perfect canvas to apply makeup while still protecting the delicate epidermis layer. It’s non-toxic, preservative-free and made in USA.

CocoKind Organic Facial Repair Serum:  If you feel like your face is a mixed mess (oily & dry) then this repair serum should be your go-to. Truly, this blend of organic oils is a game changer--especially if you want your skin to maintain its dewy sheer in drier environments. Personally, I like to spot-apply this for extra moisture in certain areas and then apply a second moisturizer on top.  The short list of ingredients pack a punch:  organic virgin coconut oil (contains essential fatty acids, antioxidants and proteins for healthier skin cells in the future), organic avocado oil (healthy dose of Vitamin A,D & E) and organic rosehip oil (the omega-6 and omega-3 “repairer” oil). CocoKind is made in San Fran using fair trade oils.

Siddha Cell Salts + Flower Essences Female Balance: If you struggle with hormonal acne during auntie flow, then this is a great option to bring your body back in balance. Siddha products gather (but Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia recognized) ingredients to help get you back in tune with your natural cycle. In this formula, you’ll find flower essences like Elecampane, Lotus and Mountain Pride. Spray 4-5 squirts under your tongue morning & night. Repeat 5x times a week. Made in the USA.

Redmond Facial Mud: Touted as the clay of 1,000 uses, this pre-hydrated clay is ancient-goodness, straight out of the Jurassic period. Native Americans local to Utah carried a ball of this mineral-rich clay with them in their packs because of its drawing and healing properties. I started using this facial once-a-week in the shower to clarify my skin and I love the silky residue it leaves behind. Redmond’s clay isn’t simply a bentonite or sodium clay, it’s naturally a blend of both. Single sourced in the USA.

Alba Acne Dote Face & Body: If you are searching for a heavy-hitting scrub, this botanical exfoliant might be the one for you. This formula isn’t 100% natural (it uses some gentle sulfates and Salicylic Acid), but it does meet a good middle ground with no synthetic fragrances, parabens or phthalates.  Plus, it has natural lemon balm, willow bark extract and softened walnut shell—needless to say it’s a step up from the typical faux-apricot scrub that was all the rav in the 2000s.   Oh, and every Alba Botanica purchase supports CARE - a program to help empower women around the world.

Many conventional body and face scrubs contain plastic microbeads. These microbeads maybe touted by brands to exfoliate skin, but in reality, most dermatologists say that the synthetic beads are too abrasive and may even end up tearing your skin. The issue is compounded when you consider that millions of plastic microbeads eventually end up harming our waterways. Luckily most of the microbeads in the US will be banned fairly soon...but up until then be leery about scrubs.

doTERRA Hydrating Serum: This serum is the made from six potent CPTG essential oils: Frankincense, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum, and Rose. Each oil adds a unique benefit to keep skin looking youthful. But the stand-out ingredient for me is Frankincense because it’s a natural and powerful astringent that naturally constricts the skin to minimize pores and help with micro-wrinkles spots (near your eyes and lips). All of doTerra’s oils are ethically sourced and also support local farmers and growers in communities across the globe.

Babyganics Wipes: No alcohol, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, artificial dyes or fragrances. Enough said.

Made with plant-based ingredients, never tested on animals and sealed by the NPA and EWG. Yep, babyganics really does know how to make the good stuff. While these alcohol-free baby wipes aren't a perfect substitute for washing your face, they are the ideal-handy option when you need a quick fix.

Hope you get to love these as much as I do!

Cheers,

Lemon
